Hello, my name is Grace Hasselbrink. I am a senior at Middle Tennessee State University, graduating in spring 2023. My college journey has been nothing but eventful and enriching.
I started college with a major in Film/Video Production with a double minor in theatre and advertising. Believe it or not, I found my love for film while watching Twilight. My mom and I would go to the premiers at 1 am (and yes, she would still make me go to school the next day, education always comes first in my family). Sitting in the theatre and experiencing these emotions for the first time (with people I’ve never met, might I add) lit a fire within me. It’s a very beautiful thing to be able to connect with people, and I think film does the best job of bringing people together to explore vulnerability and humanity, and that’s not something that often happens in today’s world.
While exploring my advertising minor, I found that there is also a creative connection within the advertising world. The idea of being surrounded by creative people doing something different every day, I knew that’s what I wanted to be doing. So, then I decided to change my minor into a major, and I’ve never looked back.
Coming into the Navigation family, I’ve been able to experience and learn so many things. I was especially excited to work with this agency because of its focus on video production. Not many agencies focus on that area like Navigation, and that’s what drew me in the most. On top of building on my video production skills, I’ve been able to add to my writing skills through press releases, blog posts, and other copy assignments.
My time at Navigation is an experience I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. I am grateful to the team for welcoming me and taking me under their wing.
