One of our favorite events of the year is coming up here in Murfreesboro, TN. Our long time client, Kelton’s Hardware and Pet is having their annual Pet Day in May event. We began planning, organizing and promoting this event 4 years ago and it has grown to be one of the biggest events in Murfreesboro for Pet lovers! This year’s event with take place on Saturday, May 7th from 10am to 2pm at the Kelton’s Hardware and Pet location on highway 96.
A lot goes into planning a community wide event like this. Creative development, sticking to the branding but making each year unique and it’s own. Press releases, e-blasts, social media and other online campaigns as well as traditional media all go into promoting an event like this; and having a great creative direction is crucial to the advertising success.
This year’s event will bring back some of the old favorite attractions like free professional pet photos, $5 nail trimmings, local vendors and free lunch; but we’ve also added a few new surprises. The Balloon Dude will be there creating balloon animals for kids, two of Murfreesboro’s finest dog treat bakeries will be joining us this year displaying their homemade treats and we even have a leather craftsman coming; we have more local vendors than ever!
Probably the biggest excitement of the day will be seeing who win’s the drawing for the $200 Kelton’s Hardware and Pet shopping spree!!
Kelton’s believes in supporting our local pet humane societies and has again paired up with The Beesley Animal Human Foundation. Representatives from the Beesley Foundation will be in attendance to answer questions and give out information. Proceeds from donations raised at Pet Day in May will go to their foundation.

This event doesn’t just promote our client, Kelton’s Hardware and Pet but it promotes local businesses with a common interest, our furry family members! Each business associated with this event will gain major exposure through online, social media and traditional advertising efforts. We hope everyone in the community is as excited as we are for this Saturday, it’s going to be a great time!
As always, don’t forget about Kelton’s FREE dog wash at their Old Fort Parkway/Hwy 96 in Murfreesboro location. They provide the soap, washout booth, and hair dryer. All you have to bring is yourself, your dog, and a towel. Makes it super easy to groom your own dog and you don’t have to worry about mucking up your bathroom or having a wet dog smell in your house. Pet Day in May is free to attend and all dogs must be leashed.
